SBC
Safety Breakaway Couplings are designed to prevent pull-away accidents and protect terminal and loading/unloading equipment.
The couplings are available in two versions – a breaking pin version (available in industrial and marine types) and a cable release version – both featuring integrated shut-off valves that automatically close the flow on both sides when activated.
The breakaway couplings are designed to act as the weakest link in the hose line or loading arm, helping to minimize spillage, downtime and damage to equipment, the environment and the investment.
| Size from: | 1”-12” (cable release type 1”-8”). |
| Material: | Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Brass. |
| Seals: | FKM seals. |
| Working pressure | 25 bar (varies depending on material). |
Poppet design – avoid damaged valves seat or over rotating flip.

Marine type
Marine Breakaway will not release in any angular pull, only at straight pull.
Marine Breakaways should always be installed between two strings of hose.

Industrial type
Industrial Breakaway will release in any angle from 0-90 degrees.
Industrial Breakaways should always be installed to minimum one fixed point.

In service
The coupling consists of two halves, each with a valve.

Released
After an emergency disconnection the coupling separates and both valves close immediately.

SBC
Benefits
Independent breaking force
Breaking force independent from line pressure and lateral force.
Low breaking force
Low breaking force.
Sideload
Withstands extreme sideload.
Connections
Choose inlet and outlet connections individually - any combination of connection available. After activation, the unit can be reset in minutes without special tools. Reliable poppet valve design. No nipples or reducers necessary - produced with a wide range of flanges and threads. Available with integrated hose shank.
Sealing
Unique low temp FKM sealing technology for all qualities of LPG and temperatures operational.
Line protected
Protects line from excess pressure.
Available in multiple versions
Available in both an industrial version, with any breaking angle - and a marine version with straight pull only.
Variation of breaking load
Variation of breaking load - will be calculated for each installation.
